Re: How to power Garmin GPS on R1150
Powerlet sells mini USB cords that plug directly into your bikes power outlet and into your GPS unit.

Re: Charging problem?
I think the problems are related. What blew the fuse? It is not supposed to happen unless something is wrong. Very likely it is the same thing that's causing an intermittent connection to the tach. A break in those wires in the wiring harness loop that is physically traumatized when the steering is...

Re: Spirited Upshifts
I agree with previous post, use very little clutch pull when spirited shifting (never tried no clutch). I discovered this myself when I first bought my 05 Roadster, I was pulling the clutch in too far and the transmission kept missing shifts, as soon as I adjusted my clutching, Voila! smooth shifts ...

R1150R to R1200R ?
Hello everyone, Considering making the switch to the new R1200R from my 2005 R1150R. I've been riding this 05 since new, has been a great bike, no issues, but the new technology seems very tempting, lighter, smoother engine & transmission, I'm finding it hard to part with the old! Has anyone mad...

Re: R1200Cl What is your opinion?
I use to own a R1200 Montauk, hard on the back because your feet are in front of you with a 90 degree bend at the knees, therefore almost all your weight is on your bottom(tailbone), so when you hit a bump, it transfers right up your spine with no legs to help absorb the impact. Some people don't mi...

Z4 still has about 20-25% left.Railbender wrote:The Metzeler Z4 has been discontinued and replaced by the Z6 Roadtec. I don't think you should have any problem mixing the two. What kind of shape is the Z4 front tire in?

Metzeler Z4 vs Z6
My dealer just replaced my rear tire with the Z6, my front tire is still the Z4, they made no mention or suggestion of replacing the front Z4 to match the new Z6 on the rear. Tread patterns between the Z4 & Z6 are different. Bike seems to handle fine on dry roads. I haven't been in the rain yet ...

Re: Oil Consumption
OK guys/girls, the past few days we experienced great weather on Southern Ontario, I was able to log about 400 km while purposely spinning the engine at higher RPM's. Guess what the result was? .......slightly better gas mileage & No noticeable Oil consumption! I followed the advice on resting t...

Re: Oil Consumption
Thanks for the input. I think I will try the strategy of "Riding like I stole it!" Maybe this will help seat the rings.

Oil Consumption
I have a 2005 R1150R that I purchased new, currently has 12,000km, I am having to add .5 litre of oil approximately every 1,000km. Is this normal? Dealer tells me it is???

Re: MRA screens
I have the smaller MRA screen without the small lip on top, I find it works very well for me 5'7", I have it angled so the air hits me just below my helmet which is good for quiet riding and just enough protection to take some wind off my torso. I suppose it would be a lttle cold if your riding...
