Thanks for the links and seat height info. 34 in. is comfortable for me. I had the opportunity to sit on a Rockster this week. I Love the feel of the bike and the looks. Now I've just got to take a test ride. This dealership wanted to sell an '04 to me for "around" 13k. Needless to say, I'...

I would not hesitate in recommending that you buy one. David Thanks, David. Are the valve adjustments hard...

Re: R1150R

[Compared to the seats on most other bikes, the BMW stock is head and shoulders above any other manufacturers' stock seat. The thing is most other manufacturers never intended for anyone to actually RIDE for more than an hour at a time. Just curious, what seat do you have? I currently have the low s...

Thanks, David. Are the valve adjustments hard to do? I don't own a shop manual, and I haven't ever done work on a boxer. No...they are not hard at all...I plan to start doing my own...get yourself a shop manual...like this new one that I just got. David http://members.optusnet.com.au/~djp1/mypic103...

Re: likes and dislikes

The R1150R is a great bike with lots of torque but not too much. It handles very easily and goes as fast as anyone reasonably should want to go. It makes for an excellent commuter or recreational ride and a very good touring machine with some minor modifications. It has a look of its own and the fo...

Re: R1150R

Thanks. I don't know why bike makers don't just make comfortable seats, stock. Thanks for the heads up. Compared to the seats on most other bikes, the BMW stock is head and shoulders above any other manufacturers' stock seat. The thing is most other manufacturers never intended for anyone to actuall...

Re: R1150R

Daniel, I have an '04 R1150R that I've owned for about 9 months. I really love the bike, it handles great and is so smooth. A big plus for me, it stands out from the crowd of the "look a like" cruisers out there. I wanted something different. My only complaint is the low seat; it gets bad...

New to this board (hello) - Rockster questions...

First of all, "hi"! I currently own a Suzuki DR 650 dual sport, and have really fallen for the looks of the R1150R. I'm doing a lot of research at this point, and would like to hear from the owners of this bike. Specifically: 1.) What do you like and dislike about the R1150R? 2.) What are ...
