Re: R1100R Rear Rack options?
Givi make one - you need the arms and the top plate - and I think it will fit with the BMW side cases. Careful with the BMW rack - I attached a Givi plate a E52 top box and it snapped the rack without much in it. May have just been an unlucky situation. Not aware of any others.

Re: R1100R Luggage Options
I agree that checking E-Bay for used panniers is the best option. Remember that panniers from the R850R, R850GS, R1100GS, R1150R, R1150GS are all the same, as are a number of other parts (the RS and RT have different left had panniers at least). For a top box you can get a BMW rack for the 1100R and...

Re: 75th anniversary edition
Sounds like you got a blinder Goldust. Another 12,000 miles and it will be run in! I totally agree with everything you said. It feels totally 'right' when you sit on and ride it (i'm 5'9 and 30" leg). Different to an r1150r and 1200r. I too have a feel good grin whenever I get on it. I also tra...

Re: 75th anniversary edition
I've got a 75th SE. They came with a stack of goodies - ABS, HG, Panniers, Chome bits. They came with a certificate which I haven't got. They are all in black with white stripes on the tank and side panels. Allegedly the stripes are hand painted by an old woman with no teeth and a steady hand. Maybe ...

Re: bike won't start question
Hi.. I know it was asked in a previous response but did you check the throttle cable position is seated properly? I would double check this. I have fallen foul of this twice when taking the battery out for a charge and the syptoms were exactly the same as yours. If the bike was running ok before you...

Re: Rear Rack for 1997 R1100R
Tas.. I have the BMW rack which was an option on the r1100r (standard on mine). It's a silver coloured thing with a reasonable size plate on it an grab handles integrated into it. I should think it will set you back £150 from a BMW dealer. If you want it to attach a top box, e.g Givi, then it may be...

Re: Replacment exhaust - any feedback on what's good or bad?
Thanks for the reply. I contacted a Leo Vince distributor in the UK and it appears they only supply cat model replacement cans (they confirmed a non cat remus can be supplied). Going to try a few other places - Laser are now making a new range which look good.

Re: F800RR
I've been holding off going for a 1200r to see what the F800R would be like. Dissappointed that they haven't gone for belt drive and round headlight (for performance rather than looks) but this bike will (IMO) be in it's own class just like the 800GS and ST. Name a middleweight roadster you can buy ...

Replacment exhaust - any feedback on what's good or bad?
I'm looking to put a different exhaust on my trusty r1100r (non cat). Nothing wrong with the OE one but would like a little bit more of a throaty noise and to save some weight. Has anyone any views on what's good and what's not? I've seen a few Remus pipes out there and a Zach exhaust on this forum ...

Re: R1100R Windshield Options
I have a R1150/850R speedster screen on mr R1100R. Bought it off e-bay for £30. You don't see that many but I saw two within the space of two weeks on e-bay. Not only does it perform well but it looks great and has silver bracket arms to match the silver frame. I think they're about £90 from a BMW d...

Re: frosty ABS
I had this on my r1100r. I think it was down to a poor performing battery as when this was replaced all was Ok again from the off.

Re: R1200R Windscreen on R1100R?
I also fitted an r1150r speedster screen to my r1100r. Just had to source longer two longer M8 bolts and it fitted straight on. A cheaper alternative are the £30 screens from Hein Gerrick. I had one also and it worked just as well - didn't look as good.
