The $4++/gallon gasoline is another buzzkill, but it's only once or twice a year
Hey Rob- you'd save money if you rode the bike instead riding it in the Nissan truck!
Look for me Thursday evening. My plans changed somewhat, so I'll be making the whole ride (695 miles according to Google maps) there in one day. Someone save me an adult beverage, I'll need it!

Sorry to hear that your bowing out Mark. See you next year?
We'll keep an eye out for you Vann. Maybe a cold can of Colt 45?
I did a nice loop up in the Poconos today and the roads are looking good; especially Pa 390 from Canadensis up through the Promised Land to Hawley. Smooth as a Prom Queen's thigh, but not as risky. Zero Police presence and no wildlife. Coming home through Jersey was "just the berries!"
Well I mucked it up real good this time. I dawdled and now must pay the price for not writing the dates down on The Calendar. Dammit. All is not lost, but the schedule is definitely reduced for me. Current plan is to ride on Friday, then head home. Then carousing Saturday evening, if a room is available, or if someone is looking for a roomie. Gotta talk to Bashmaster about door prizes. Hope to see some of you, some of the time.
Just tying up some loose ends here at the homestead and then packing up the 9er. It's 47 degrees on the Musconetcong Ridge with bright sunny skies. It's only 61.2 miles door to door via the scenic route, but I will be shooting some photos along the way. Looking forward to seeing you all during the Bash.
Some bad news....there is a good chance that Vann will not be able to go due to a problem with a TB on his bike. I was going to room with him and he may have to give up the room. I need to know if there is anyone interested in splitting the room with me if this this happens. I will not be able to go if I don't find someone to share as the $ flow is little tight right now.
PM me if interested.
Yes - in a stunning turn of events, my bike is not going to be travel ready. I had it in to a local independent shop Tuesday for the ABS brake service. Also going to do a couple of minor odds and ends while it was on the lift. Almost as an afterthought, I asked him to sync the throttle bodies, since it had probably been 12K since the last time. It had a little surge at certain cruising rpms but nothing much. Turns out the left TB is shot, with a broken shaft and the butterfly valve rattling around. The bike was running amazingly well, considering!
Even overnighting parts in would not give enough time to finish before Friday sometime. Sorry, too long a ride to only have one 'fun' day of riding.
Hopefully, someone can pick up my slack and share the room with Buckster.
I hate this. I was looking forward to the Hawk's Nest and Woodstock route and seeing everyone, including some I hadn't meet except online.
And my perfect attendence record for attending the Bash will be history.

Frank1150r and Mitchell are not here as of yet.
I assume that they are in separate rooms.
I arrived around 4pm. I can ask if you want.
Doc - I can't tell you how disappointed I am too. Really looking forward to the rides. If I had not procrastinated calling for the appointment and discovered the problem last week, all would be good. Oh well.
Next year!
I guess I am dual sporting on the DR 650 this weekend!

Doc,
I appreciate that. I have made some "plan B" plans to go to western MD and WV with some friends while I have the chance. You guys have a great time!
Vann,
I'm sad to see that your streak has been broken. I'll have to see about Hungry Mother. Hope you get your issue fixed soon and enjoy the DR!
Vann & Buckster: at least the weekend won't be wasted. See you next year.
Frank1150r, CycleRob, the Stamps, and I got 200.1 miles in today without incident. Mitchell is in residence across the courtyard. Dinner tonight at the Erie Hotel in Port Jervis and then the scenic loop tomorrow with Bethel Woods on the itinerary. It was a sunny 76 degrees today with clear blue skies.
I made it home safely and in plenty of time to shower and get to my daughters dance recietal. I wanted to say goodbye to all, I waited till 9:10, said bye to Steve and John, to everyone else, thanks for a great few days,Frank
