I got a brand new pair of roller skates.....

Post by Just-Beeming »

Wasn't that a popular song in the 70's? Wow!

I turned 50 on Monday. I was sort of apprehensive about it...but...
I got another BIKE! A little 2005 f650 GS to go play in the dirt with.
She is a sweet little thing. 3400 miles on her...black of course!

I have not ridden it yet as we just completed some of the nastiest weather the Northwest US has seen for quite some time...5 inches of rain in 48 hours in our area.
The Birthday was fantastic. Had I known how great it would be I would have done it sooner. ha
So while I will still hang out here for R1150R topics of good humor, I will also be hanging around the chain gang learning the ropes.

Pics and ride reports to follow shortly.

Happy Birthday Carol!!!

Congrats on the bike too. I'm loving my 650. Had it out in the dirt and mud yesterday! So how are you going to decide which bike to take on a trip? See? This is what happens. You get more than one bike and the next thing you know.......... S.O. will be getting a trailer for his birthday!!

Enjoy your new ride and your new decade.

Congrats on your cool present and Happy Birthday Beeming!

I told Gypsy I'd like to get a "Something" 650 at some point too. I think it would teach me a whole new dimension of riding and vastly improve my riding skills across the board.

But alas, I've accepted that the next new/used bike in our stable will be for my wife! And thats OK, because I already have, IMHO, the best bike in the world and I intend to keep it as long as I can ride. Any other bikes will be an addition. And at 45 with a 7 year old, were definitely not made of money either and wont be any time soon.

I know you'll enjoy it, just from reading your ride reports.

Pictures when you can please!

Let me join the crowd and congratulate you "TWICE", for your birthday and the new 650.

Anything that size is a lot of fun.....light, responsive and what lacks in HP makes it up on the fun factor......enjoy.

They say that when you reach 50 you can get away with anything.....on account that you are either senile or an old geezer....only those over 50 know how wrong that assumption is.....although most of us take full advantage of the belief.....
