Scofflaw Music

Post by Dr. Strangelove »

It has been repeatedly discussed what music we listen to when riding, but I propose a twist on that.

What is your best "go fast in the twisties" music; what music do you want playing loud while doing Deals Gap, or your favorite twisty.

My answer: In Bloom by Nirvana, so fine! Makes you wanna lean and tear.
That'll get me half way through <G> and I may finish with Hey, Now by Outkast. I'll shake it like a Poloroid picture.

Your choice for scofflaw music?

And don't give me Norah Jones, please.

I am not hip to the meaning of the word scofflaw?
Were not dat 'mart in da nortwet!

Good tunes can make the ride.
One songs became my anthem through the colorado rockies up the million dollar highway... Ouray to Silverton....There and Back again....Daughtry (the american Idol rocker runner up)

OMG the music became the ride, the ride became the music and all was good in the world....you follow my meaning?

This oughta be a fun thread, I think...

Okay, just keep in mind that I'm dangerously close to being an old fart, and that's reflected in my tunes-

"Zero to Sixty in 5 Seconds Flat", Pablo Cruise

"I Think I'm Turning Japanese", The Vapors

"Rebel Yell" & "White Wedding", Billy Idol

"Radar Love" & "Twilight Zone", Golden Earring

"Ballroom Blitz", Sweet

"Misirlou", D*ck Dale and The Deltones

"Black Betty", Ram Jam

There are more that don't immediately come to mind, and the best part is that I don't need no steenkin' iPod, 'cuz they're already in my head!
oh, wait- I prob'ly shouldn't admit that publicly, should I?

Ok, got to keep this on point, in focus

scoff·law (skŏf'lô', skôf'-) Pronunciation Key
n. One who habitually violates the law or fails to answer court summonses.

What is THE best...
not a list, not a passel of tunes

The one that revs the testosterone--yes, ladies, you have some too.

The song that brings riding aggression to the fore, not to make you ride sloppily, but hard, no excuses.

When in WV, I sing "Country Roads" by John Denver.

When in Kentucky, I sing "Coal Miner's Daughter" by Loretta Lynn, or "Blue Moon of Kentucky" by Bill Monroe.

When traveling, and trying to make time, there is nothing better than "East Bound and Down" by Jerry Reed(even better when actually going east).

Cam turned me onto "Radar Love" as the song for VA 16.

Rage Against the Machine makes me go faster than I should.

I try to stay mellow, and relax.

WAIT. I think I want to change my favorite to this other little guilty pleasure.
Embarrassingly admitting and submitting this one too. I swear - I only listen to Clumsy and this one on good mc roads (without speeding).

The best is sadly a car song. But if you can operate any motorvehicle while listening to this, without getting into triple digit speeds, you have no soul.

Jesus Built My Hot Rod. by Ministry

It probably shows my age also. Gosh I'm a geezer.

iowabeakster,

I bet the geezers don't even know Ministry. The Purple Microdot Production is interesting. I've heard that "purple microdot" was a particularly desirable hit of LSD back in the tune in turn on and drop out days.

Your post made me think of Rob Zombie's "Dragula" also.

DSKYZD,

Zombie was almost my first pick, Mine would have been, Thunderkiss '65.

But then, this orange telepathic bubble came along and showed me the beauty of my textured ceiling. This caused me to realize that Ministry was the right choice.
