Just bought an ed. 80 let the aftermaket games begin

Post by bubbac45 »

Just bought a 2004 80 edition and am setting it up for 6 1'
old frt.

hence read post well everything

what I have learned from you all:
Handle bars
I understand r1150r bars fit with no cable problems.
Hand guards from r1150r/GS
The windscreen aftermarket will take care of ...well... "my taste in wind protection" (read experiment experiment experiment)
add a Sargeant seat
I think foot rest lowers are in order.
Am I on track so far ?

First though ....must do 1000 mile shake down and then let the aftermarket games begin

Any advice before I open my wallet
A Great Forum
cheers

A bit OT, but please tell us what number your bike is - and we'll get your bike in the database :D

You are on track. Those are the fundamental size-related accessories and modifications. Seems you know what approach you want to take and can move through the paces with success. Best good fortune to you. Welcome aboard.

Not quite as tall, but using the SWmotech barback/riser & would still like a little more. Original lines & cables.
Bob's BMW lowering blocks(painted black)
Don't know if the Wunderlich bars would help or if I would then need to go to longer lines etc.

Nor a fig plucker's son
But I'll pluck figs 'til a fig plucker comes
