Parabellum Scout Fairing Info Wanted

Post by nonskid »

I'm looking to buy a Parabellum Scout Faring for my R1150R. I'm not sure I like the way they mount to the bike.
Can any one send me pictures or post some of one on their bike? I'd like to see how it is mounted. How would it mount with bar backs? Would they interfere with mounting? I Presently have a BMW touring screen on now but it is to short. Thanks

The Parabellum Scout fairing is very solidly mounted via two of the machine screws (included with purchase of the Scout)that clamp the handlebars in place. Also, the two bolts that hold the headlight shell in place connect to brackets which in turn attach (through bolted) to the fairing. Very well designed, and more than sturdy enough for the lightweight fairing. I had the first production Scout they sold, it was hand-laid fiberglas and they have since switched to abs so now they're even lighter. Nice people to deal with, and a great product. I think I dumped the images I had of it on my 'R, but I'll look and if I still have 'em I'll post 'em.

They can be used with certain barbacks. Not the verhollen as they have no place to attach the top screws. I am using the Scout and with different windshields it is great in all seasons. No picts of the unit at this time.

Show us a pic of your bar backs and we can tell you if they will work.

I have the Scout and love it. Same here with 2 differnt schields, !8" and 10". I'm using Verholen barbacks but had my brother michine the rounded top flat. I than had them powder coated black. As long as the top of the bar backs are flat they should work. And when its mounted its solid. Sorry but if I knew how to send a pic I would.

The PO of my 2004 R1150R installed the parabellum scout fairing with genmar bar risers, he clearly had no problems, they're still on the bike and have worked great for me.

The fairing itself has been great for the 3000 miles I've ridden it. I have used the 10" and the 18" fairings, the interchangeability of windscreens is great to have. I don't have detailed pictures of the bar risers, but if it's important, it's not a hard thing to do.

I'd post a pic of my bar backs but I can't seem to make that happen. They are angular in shape and one of the mounting screws goes through the rounded section that the handle bar sits in, to mount it to the bike. They also have "LEH039 KBH90730" stamped in the side of them.
