Nice! That's a big step in your motorcycling experience, I'm sure you're proud of her. ( your wife) :)
Good looking bike too, it looks right at home as partner for the 1200R...
You now have the best of both worlds, a loving partner to ride with, and a bike to enjoy without a passenger!
Cool! =D>

Did she get a low seat? Does it fit her well, and how tall is she?
I ask because I have a lady friend who's working on her license, and I'm trying to steer her towards a f800...

PS: I sure would love to be your BMW salesperson... ;)

Hi Chitown.

First of all, i hope you are feeling better!

I am really proud of Val. She passed her first test and rides like a natural (of course, i would say that ;) )

Her bike has been lowered with WP rear shock (-40mm), WP stiff(er) front springs and a BMW low seat.
She is about 1.57m and can easily flatfoot the bike.
For her small hands, i found some wunderlich clutch & brake levers. They are, in my opinion, essential for beginners & for those of us with small hands (myself included...)
Here are some photos:

Nice selection in bikes. Here's the wife's F800 and my R12R.

Very nice :D

I had a look at the ST, but due to the engine cover/lower fairing it was just too hot for the climates over here
Looks really nice, though.

Besides that - Val really liked the more aggressive riding position offered on the "S".

Regards,

E

Thanks everyone!

All those compliments have bought a broad smile to Val's face :)
Almost 1000km on the F800 - so first service coming up.

She is really enjoying the bike and has started (beginners) advanced training with ex-military/police bike riders.
I really want her to get into good & safe habits right from the beginning.

She'll be a faster and smoother rider than me in the end

E
