Engine Hesitates from ~1800 -2400 RPM

Post by vballcoachk »

My 2004 hesitates real bad at about ~1800-2400 rpm and then is fine through 5000+ rpm. Any ideas what it might be? I emptied out last years gas, filled it with new premium (92 Octane) and added "Seafoam". I've opened the air box and the filter is a little dirty, but not bad. Even tried revving the engine with the box open and it still hesitated. It also cold starts hard...I have to start it 4-5 times be for it stays and need to let it idle for about 5 minutes before I can do anything. Don't know if its related to the above or not.

Thanks, Tony

Check the coils. Sounds a lot like mine did until the bike would not start at all.

I know this has been covered elsewhere but can you point me to an idiot's guide to do this. I have done just about everything else. Thanks in advance.

Do the coils have anything to do with the hesitation or are they just related to the hard start? :?:
