Plastic Injector Covers

Post by sattwood »

I've seen some bikes with what look like plastic BMW OEM covers for the injectors. Rumor has it that they only cost about $4.00 each. Has anyone seen these. The goal is to protect the injectors from junk flying up from the road.

Thanks....Steve

You can find them at your dealer, I bought mine a few years ago, I think they were about $5. I believe they are standard items on the GS.

I believe there was a thread some time ago about these, anyway, I put these on my Rock, and they are not real secure, 1 kept popping off. So I drilleed the front square corners with a small hole, and installed and tierapped them so I have to cut the tieraps to remove. No problem as I always carry a few in the spare parts kit.

They're standard on the R1100RS.

Also - what Cliff said - the right side one can very easily be flicked off by your trouser leg so tie-wrapping them is a good idea. They never have to be removed for servicing (unless you're dismantling the injector).
