Alex,
I hear ya! Looks like I may need to wait until next spring. Too many projects, not enough time nor enough money!
If I do come down in the springtime, may visit the Bay Area for a ride out with my B-in-law, he rides a VFR, but he's still an okay guy! LOL
Ciao!

Re: Rick vs Bill Myer saddles
Alex,
When I saw Rick was running a special sale on seats for 1100's this month I went ahead and made an appointment for a new cushion for my 1100S. Rode down earlier this week and watched Rick (and his assistant Seth) build exactly the seat I wanted, after he had taken a few measurements. While I was there a gent from Virginia was also in the shop having a seat made for his Suzuki Dual sport. That Suzuki had so many accessories and add-ons it looked ready to run Baja!
Process took a little while longer than I thought it might, but I was in at 9:00 and on the road again by noon. Seat is a vast improvement over the stock factory seat, and I'm quite satisfied with the craftsman ship. It was interesting watching how he uses several densities of foam to build a seat that is supportive, yet comfortable. I'd planned a bit longer ride on the way home, but had a minor mishap on Monday which resulted in pulled groin muscle. So my ride report has a different perspective! With the stock seat (and the injury) I could only ride about 1/2 an hour or so at a stretch. With the RMC seat I was good for a tankful ride, usually 2 1/2 to 3 hours. YMMV!
Summary...I'm very pleased and would definitely do this again. Particularly with a ride in appointment for a personal fitting.
