Mirrors?

Post by hirschg »

I've done a search but can't seem to get the answer I'm looking for. What type of mirrors fit the R1150R to replace the stock micky mouse mirrors I'm looking for better visibility.
Thanks Jerry

I have the K1200RS mirrors on mine. A direct replacement. They look better and being a little wider give me a better veiw. The compinantion of the KRS mirrors and the Wunderlich touring bar really changed my rear view. This bar is wider and the placement of the mirrors futher outboard really helps. Another optionis the custom mirrors sold in the Wunderlich catalog. I can't recall exactly who the Wunderlich distibutor is, but I fancy it's San Jose BMW. Send for a current catalog. Wunderlich nas some really neat pieces.
I don't get caught in the rain, I ride in it on purpose.

+1 for K1200RS mirrors.
LEFT 51 16 7 653 773 $50.00
RIGHT 51 16 7 653 774 $50.00

Check with Chicago BMW, just to make sure that the numbers are still the same.
I got mine about 6 years ago.
Good Luck.

I thought the left hand mirror needed some filing/dremeling to allow the fast idle to fully engage. At least that is what I did.

i've added the mirrors (and levers) from the R1200...
they are oval, and chrome and lower than the stock "mickey mouse" ears. plus, they bolt right on.
i also added some rubber washers so they wouldnt vibrate as much (thanks to someone on this board for that idea).

i think they look rad!

I bought the K1200RS mirrors as well; very happy with them. Left mirror needs a bit of dremelling to make room for the choke, but that's un pezzo di torta. I found one on ebay and the other on IBMWR.
Scrambler, was R1150R
