Retrofitting ABS
Is it possible to retro-fit ABS on a non-ABS 2000 R1100R?
Re: Retrofitting ABS
I am going to bet that the only practical answer is a simple, inexpensive, two-step process requiring minimal mechanical skill:
1) Sell your R1100R without ABS
2) Buy an R1100R with ABS
No, seriously.

Re: Retrofitting ABS
I think you are right. I'm finding that the price of parts for the ABS are approaching the value of my bike...
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Retrofitting ABS
Masochism i feel, and do hope its not contagious, the only correct manouvere with ABS is remove them in toto.
sorry for the bias but after seeing what ABS did to my bike and how much destruction and wear it gave
i politely hate them.

Re: Retrofitting ABS
Sunday, doing 60mph round a curve going North on the Blue Ridge Parkway nearing Waynesboro, out sprang a doe, followed by her fawn. Clamped on the binders, a little ABS flutter, and stopped dead in my tracks. Best damn brakes I've ever had on a bike, bar none.

Re: Retrofitting ABS
That'll cost you a fortune and it would be cheaper to sell your bike and buy one with ABS. ABS requires a completely different wiring harness, pressure modulator, ABS sensors front and rear, ABS brake pipes front/rear, indicator rings, and much more. The parts alone will cost you big bucks not considering the work involved to change the complete wiring harness and mounting all these parts.geffr1 wrote:Is it possible to retro-fit ABS on a non-ABS 2000 R1100R?
