Handlebar master cylinders

03 R1150R Non-ABS. I've changed the brake fluid several times, but have a question that's still nagging me.

My particular Clymer manual seems to have omitted the correct handlebar position for the R1150R. Should the bike be on the centerstand or sidestand? Are the bars left, right or straight ahead? Where are the correct min and max marks? Up until now I have just bled and re-filled the system so it isn't low or overfilled, but I can't stand it any more. I need to know.

Fluid level should be at the center of the window.

Remember to only use fresh, unopened DOT 4 brake fluid and don't forget to check the rear brake reservoir.

Apparently no MAX mark on the clutch.

I still prefer my method of checking...bike on center stand levels at middle of window. Has worked for me for 60,000 miles. The procedure BMW suggests just doesn't make sense...or maybe it's just too complicated for my simple mind.
