You mention sore wrists on the R12S.
You have changed the handlebars on the R1200R. Do they perform as well as they look.
I have wanted to change the handlebars but haven't done so because I was worried about two issues:
(1) clearance between bars & tank when steering (obviously parking, moving the bike around - not when under motor)
(2) fatigue - just returned to Sydney from Phillip Island for example, over 1,000 k's not a prblem with OEM bars but a potential issue with flatter bars.
If you haven't encountered any negatives I'm going shopping!
Off the top of my head the standard bars that come with the R12R are 750mmL x 80mmH x 140mmSweep back.
For me it was to much sit up and beg, I wanted a flatter bar.
There would be clearance issues if you don't work it out, which I did.
When looking at bars on the internet I could only go with ones that supplied there dimensions which was Renthol and Rizoma. I went with Rizoma because they wore priced right and the dimensions are 730mmL x 40mmH x 120mm back.
With the riser to take the fat bar @ 20mm H I'm only 20mm down on standard. I would like to be a little more flatter. Remember it doesn't matter what bar you go for you will have to drill a locating hole through the bar to take the left grip. I've got a work shop full of tool and a drill press so it was easy for me. I wouldn't recommend doing it in a vise with a hand held drill.
