See Ya Later

Post by toolinalong »

Gentlemen,

It's been GRAND, but tomorrow afternoon I must take my leave of you all. I am turning Betty over to the dealer and riding away on a new ST1300. After my brief 12 years of summer touring, it seems time to make the move to a bike more dedicated to touring, as that is 90% of my miles. The R has served me quite well in that regard, but it's time.

I have benefitted immensely, as we all have here on this board, from the wisdom of all of you, but of course especially that of CycleRob and Beemeridian. Thank you both so much.

Rob, yesterday I finally put in the cam chain tensioner (92300 miles). It took me an hour, and I did not remove the throttle body, as per your suggestion. The last in a long line of how to's, but only a master such as yourself could do that job in ten minutes :)

I will have a few things to sell, check the for sale pages in a few days for hard bags, throttlemeister, Techclusion TFI, a windshield and maybe one or two other things, guaranteed great prices!

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

And what do we want from fire?

OK, on your way through the hyperspace bypass you have chosen to ride an ST1300. Very fine bike, and beautiful, and hot.

On a recent ride through WV, KY and Va with a friend on an ST1300, I think my R, Stella!, may have been quicker through the turns as he complained of the Honda feeling very heavy, as it is. And he said he never bonded with it, I asked, and he never "named" it.

The four most dangerous words in the English language: This Time It's Different.

But it is on my short list of favs and I wish you well in your travels. It sure is pretty; and reliable; and made well.

So, so long and thanks for all the fish, back at ya, and this is the second time today The Hitchhiker's Guide came up in conversation. Where's Ford?

And aren't we all looking for Milliways?

92.3K miles... Well Done! =D>

Enjoy the Honda. I hope you still come by talk about the riding... if not the particulars about maintenance of a particular model.

There is no need to be stranger.

...and...

Don't forget to pack your towel. ;)
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...
