R12R Bling

Post by websterize »

There are a lot of flashy accessories in the 2011 Motorrad equipment catalog. (The R12R stuff begins on page 22.) I had only enough fun money for these three — all ordered from Chicago BMW with its 20-percent parts discount:

Hand levers

Yoke caps

Oil filler cap

After I've recovered and can donate more blood, I'll probably get the milled telelever caps. Sweating these design details is one of the reasons I enjoy BMW.

Now do yourself a big favor and get some F800GS mirrors, perhaps the best farkle ever. They look GREAT, and work EVEN BETTER!

Done. I installed the Tuonos (a.k.a. 800GS mirrors) in June and have been happy with their function and appearance.

Heya, Scott, the lever part is 71607706739. I saw them on Max BMW's parts fiche. I thought the levers shipped in pairs but only got one in the box. They're $80/each(!) with the discount. I'm awaiting arrival of the brake lever and will post pictures of that install in a new topic — putting on the milled lever is more involved than simply removing a torx screw.

Thanks for the part # and fiche link. Sorry to beat this horse, but shouldn't there be two different part #s, one for clutch one for brake lever? I only saw one part # which I find odd.

Flipped over? The same thought crossed my mind - then it came to me. Two identical levers, one flipped.

Yes, it's the same part number for both sides. The black levers have an R and L embossed on the bottom.
