Hope those H-D bulbs don't leak oil.

Re: yellow or red for rear indicators
Well the bulbs are not the problem now. Seriously I cannot make this stuff up. The rear turn signals have different internal reflectors. The left rear indicator has the 1156 mount with the 180 degree pin offset. This is the one I looked at yesterday and figured, silly me, the right side was the same. WRONG. The right side has a different mount that uses a similar bulb, but with an odd degree offeset, maybe 210 or 140 depending on how you measure.
Anyway I took at look at the fronts and the 180 bulb is the odd ball. (side note: I bought the bike used and if I did not want to switch out the bulbs I would have never known, they look great from the outside. )
I called Morton's they reported that when BMW went to the clear lens they switched to the bizarre offset bulb. The older yellow lens use the 180 degree offset bulb. Of course I cannot just buy the reflector I would have to buy the whole assemble. Anyone have an old internal reflector laying around that has the 180 degree bulb mount? I am sort considering just dremeling the reflector as well, not sure how good that would work. I guess the saga continues.

Re: yellow or red for rear indicators
zeke,
Sounds like maybe one of the stalks was replaced at one time??
I remember having to dremmel a small tab of my clear lenses to make them fit. I replaced the fronts only from the orange to the clear mirror bulbs and clear lenses just for looks. I had a rear bulb go out the other day and I replaced it with the amber bulb I had as a spare from the front. It was the 180 degree style.
I'll be headed to Morton's today to get another clear lense as one of the front ones broke. I used to have a link for the aftermarket clear lenses, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Anyway, I hope you find a solution to your problem. Dremmel tool is a nice friend to have!

Re: yellow or red for rear indicators
I got a solution. Found a source that has the 180 reflectors. Gonna get this whole thing settled tomorrow. Should be a quick swap out..... I hope at least.
