LED lights install?'s

Post by oxinthebox »

Hey all-

Just bought some LEDs for my 02 r1150r and was wondering about the best spot to mount them. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Help us out here - What type of LEDs?

Auxiliary brake lights?
Conspicuity white lights?
Flashing multicolor LEDs, illumination timed with hidden speakers' bass thump blasting 70s disco hits kinda lights?

IMO, there is one serious issue with LED's as road lghts, LED's are very bright but don't have anywhere the reach of a good Halogen or an HID.

In short you will be seen, before you see them.....

So true. If you are looking for driving lights to be used at night, these guys just don't hack it. I did install a set of LED's on my other bike with the intention of using them as daylight running lights. They work very good for that purpose. They will help you to be seen by others on the road but they don't put any real light down on the road. I used H3 lamps mounted under the oil cooler covers on the BMW for running at night (which I did a lot of since I worked "off shifts") They worked well for that purpose. They also work well as daylight running lamps.
