Hello Guy's ,
A little question from the Netherlands here ,
I own a '00 R1100R ( european model ) , and I'm looking for an aftermarket gear indicator.
Does anyone know of a brand/type I have to look at ?
Thanks in advance ,
Henkie.

Re: Gear indicator '00 R1100R ( European)
The bike has a built in gear indicator for first and fifth. One thing I've noticed... When in first or fifth gear the shifter gets "floppy". For instance when you keep pushing down into first you know your there when the gear shifter no longer has resistance when pressing downward and feels "floppy". It does the same thing in fifth gear when pushing upward. Once it gets floppy on the upward shift you know your in fifth gear.
This same feature was used on early 4 speed Harley Sportsters, then they did away with it on the newer 5 speed models.. I don't know if its common to BMWs because I haven't ridden any besides my own. Once you are used to it, you can always find first or fifth gear. I love it.
