Hi
My clutch slave went about 1500k from home so limped home with a lot of clutch bleeding. I have a 2001 R1150R I got a new clutch slave for $95.00 from beamer bone yard the highest I was quoted here was $750.00 (that was just for the part).
The way I replaced it was to remove the rear wheel then move the shock out of the way. The area to work in is very small removing the old gasket and cleaning the area was very slow due to small area to work in was this the right way to do it?
Also bleeding the clutch has a check valve which having bleed the breaks every 100k for 1500k I can't see much use in the field (I could be very wrong) I ended up removing the check valve and putting a speed bleeder in instead which works the same way the break system works when it is screwed all the way down it seals unscrew it a bit it bleeds nice and simple. There have been posts about putting bleeders in the check valve but it did not work for me and there was very little thread holding the bleeder in place.
So any advice would be great as I like the idea of being able to do the job in the field if needed.

I know a (very) competent mechanic who replaced the same part the same way on his wife's bike on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere, and she was sMiling again in a few hours.
Good job
