Finally!

Post by pizzmor »

Well I finally did it. Went down to Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg VA and came home with a new (to me) 2008 R1200R. She is black and came with SIDI side and top cases with a color matched Parabellum Scout fairing. Just got back from a night ride and all I can say is wow. This bike is just....right. Its kind of like peanut butter and jelly and a glass of cold milk, that kind of right.

I will post some pics soon. I am glad to finally be able to stop lurking and join the group.

Awesome!
I love your PB&J with milk analogy, couldn't be more correct. Or right in this case.

Welcome to the R1200R owners club, looking forward to some photos.
Nice to buy a bike already setup too.

Cheers!

Welcome, bike looks great ;) Although, you need to ditch the screen, switch to BMW luggage and send the handguards to me, then it'll be perfect :)

I am in PA just over the MD line north of Baltimore, but I commute to DC where I work. MARC train. I am one of the "super commuters."

It's a nice ride to Baltimore though.

Congrats! I love those bags on the bike. Fit better than the BMW bags. Enjoy!

Bike looks great. But be careful, Black is by far the fastest color! Welcome to the clan...

Very nice. The bags look great -- much more attractive than the BMW cases on mine.

Interestingly, I had seen pics of that bike on an email group in which I participate. Thought it was a great bike and was a bit surprised it wasn't snapped up immediately -- though I don't think it was at the dealer's long before you bought it.

Best of luck with it. I think you're gonna love it.

That would be the group, Don, though we both know it doesn't exist ;) I figured it would have been in Fletch's garage by now. Guess he just wasn't quite ready to buy for one reason or another.
