Who's heard of 'em?
Ohlins, Wilbers and Yacugar all spring from the same fountain, in fact people transition from each company to the other, so they're all the same chip of wood.
Each has their strengths and weaknesses.
I called the local suspension shop looking for a set of Wilber's. The owner of the shop convinced me to go with Yacugar. Yacugar is more expensive than Wilber's, but he's introducing these shocks at a discount equal to Wilber's, so for the time being, order these and he charges you the Wilber's price.
Needless to say, I ordered a set.
I got the triple valve rear and the standard front, both have rebound control, the rear has two stage compression damping. It uses a bladder in the piggy-back as opposed to a shim stack - this is better.
They're being custom built for me now and in three weeks I should have them installed and on the road.
The R12R is such a fine ride, it deserves good suspension, at least I think so.
I took a road trip last week, 1154 miles on a tour through California from S.F. to Tulelake at the Oregon border, back down the central valley and out to the coast and home. With a full load, the bike felt mushy at first, but I soon came to enjoy the lack of sharp bumps and it still handled like the thoroughbred it is.
This led me to look into shocks. The harsh ride without the loaded paniers after the soft cruise of the road trip made me realize it should be done.
I first looked at WORKS, then Ohlins and Wilber's, but at the end of the day Yacugar got the nod. Yacugar is at the same place Wilber's was when they were breaking into the market with Ohlins as the main competition. Now Yacugar is competing against Wilber's. Apparently they're built stronger and better with at the very least, equal performance.
I'll let you know the outcome when I get them installed.

Re: Yacugar Suspension
I'll soon be adding suspension to several bikes. Please do keep us posted on how you like them.

Re: Yacugar Suspension
All from the same pod.. include HyperPro in that mix. The same designer moved from company to company.. HyperPro pretty much pioneered the bladder for the pressurized gas instead of a floating piston (which Ohlins and Wilbers still use.) No stiction in a bladder = better/smoother control.
Also worth considering YSS - again from the same mind that gave us the other brands. They are considerably less expensive. See http://www.epmperformance.com for details. Lots of good options out there now. I can remember when it was Ohlins for the high end, and Works and Performance for mid-range and that's all there was..
BTW - went and looked at the Yacugar website.. most of the design appears identical to HyperPro (which are generally less expensive then Wilbers..) Some parts look absolutely the same, some the same but a different color anodizing. Almost incestuous..

Re: Yacugar Suspension
Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately, or not, I've ordered and laid a deposit for a set of Yacugar's.
Very excited about it.
