DID IT - added a new one to the stable...
I am restless. I want one of my bikes to have more HP. The Ducati is generally just used on the track. I miss having an inline 4 to ride from time to time - I was brought up on them and while Boxers have their own charm, I miss having a little more metal under me. I only have about $15,000 to frivolously spend on this project.
I'm just kicking this around, but once I start to do that I usually make a decision pretty quick. Would appreciate your thoughts.

who cares what others would do
And the opinion of others will do what for you?
It's a personal, and viseral, thing.... it's up to you, alone.

Thank you for your opinion. I too have viscera, but I also feel that we are social animals, and I appreciate the opinions of others. I also seek validation from people with different and varying life experience.

I need a touring mount, and I don't think my wife would appreciate the back of the Busa. I am seriously leaning towards RT and Busa.

You can replace the Duc with any number of inline 4 sportbikes or...........
replace the RT with a Yamaha FJR1300 sport tourer with 140hp inline 4 which can haul a$$ one up or haul a$$es two up!
My 2 cents (which u asked 4).
Cheers

Keep the functional & timeless Bavarian Touring Bike; they only get better with time....

treat yourself to a Japanese techno-wonder via the Hayabusa or R1 (choose the one that fits you better).
Between the two, you could choose whatever style of street riding you're in the mood for!

I owe you one! Rode home my brand new R1 about an hour ago. not enough light for me to get any photos, but will have them up shortly. It's stock except for a set of frame sliders.
I've only ridden it a few miles but I am completely floored by the smoothness, the handling, the whole package. seating position is less aggressinve than my Ducati.
I will get photos and a ride report up this weekend. It is a beautiful dark red color.
One problem - I still have the Duc and I love it, and I do not have room for three bikes and two cars in my garage. My wfe is out of town for the weekend with the Touareg but when she gets home on Sunday afternoon I better have that bike out of here. I think I will give it to my son.
Zoom.
Oh - love my RT - it's set up just how I want it and it's just getting broken in. I will keep it at least until the ne K-GT comes out next year.

Sorry these pix are preliminary and snapped on the fly - my new bike and my new stable. The R1 is an incredible bike. I think I could get no more than about 5 hours out of it in a day due to the position, but what an incredible ride. Will post full ride report at some point - travelling this week.

Awright!!
Can we terrorize some lovely Indian lassies?
"Two old hoons" indeed...I resemble that remark!
I used to have a secretary from AZ who was 3/4 Apache, 1/4 "real" Mexican. Long, straight, black hair down to her pretty little fanny. Big brown eyes. A real American Beauty!
She was raised in a small adobe hacienda 15 miles from the border, one of 17 brothers & sisters. If you'd guessed her name was "Maria" you would be right. The others were all named "Jesus" and "Maria", I think...

Darth - if you come down here and start pursuing native American gals with big families - you are going to need that R1 to get away with your scalp!
Dean - Hoon ride is a great idea and would not be complete without the Hoon Emeritus of Arizona. If Dave flies in we can ride my sportbikes up to your place where it's cool - and then start out on a real ride!

yep that's the way I'd go
Keep the '04 RT, slide home on a new R1. That's my vote. If I'd the accounts for it, I'd have a FZ-1 next to the new R1150R, and keep the 6fiddyGS.
Great minds think alike. Congrats. I was "newest bike owner" for about a day and a half on this board! Must be something in the air.
