Plug replacement
Replaced the original NGK plugs with Auto Lite 3923's today. I have a 2002 R1150R with 19,000 miles (second owner). Now there is no surge at the magical 3000 rpm. Now I will wait to see if the Mpgs changes.

Re: Plug replacement
We did the same switch with the plugs on our 2002 and lost the surge for about 10k miles then it came back so we changed again. Small price to pay to get the surge gone. We just figure to adjust the valves and change the Autolites at every 10 K. Didn't really see much of a MPG change however the 2002 is my sons bike and he never gets the best MPG if you know what I mean, usually he is around the low 40's.

Re: Plug replacement
I replaced my original NGK with err NGK.
Never had surge problems and found that brand of plugs to be the best - especially on tuned /knackered engines like my old Triumph T90 and Dad's Holbay Rapier H120.

Re: Plug replacement
I had the slight surge in my first R, an '03. The Autolite 3923's took care of it. $2 vs $8, not a difficult decision.
