ABS thoughts and removal

Post by texbid »

I absolutely loved my ABS R1150R. Then one day i almost ended up under a truck due to residual braking. for those of you that have had the experience will know the horror. For those that haven't had the pleasure ... hope you never do.

I found the culprit to the failure. A bad battery and a fluid change fixed it. It worked for three years. Yesterday it almost put me under a truck again.

I have now removed the ABS pump.

THE POINT OF THE POST: For three years I have been riding the bike with a constant fear of a brake failure. Fear the when I squeeze the brake the bike will not stop!

I am a huge BMW fan, I own or have owned a R1150R, R1100S, R1200GS, K1100LT, but they really screwed the pooch on this one. It is just not a reliable system. Get it out of your bike.
