Beakster Bash 17- May 14-17 - Fayetteville, WV - CANCELED

Post by Biff's R »

CANCELED

May 14-17, 2020
Quality Inn New River Gorge
Fayetteville, WV
(304) 574-3443

Rooms are $89/night plus tax under a group rate for "Beakster Bash"

Attn: Touchton, the Dairy Queen is still next door to the motel. :D

Just down the street from the New River Gorge Bridge, and a bunch of great riding in central WV. Just be mindful of the speed limit in Gauley Bridge, WV.

Just a reminder to book your room in the next week or so to make sure they don't release any rooms.

Jeff what are you thinking at this point about the Bash?

As I understand it WV has not yet issued a lock down as we have here in Va. That being said the Bash is still over a month away. Personally I'm not planning to attend even if there's no lock down. Too much up in the air. I can't see all this geting that much better in just several weeks.

I need to look at what the current regulations are in WV. What's sad is that I have no clue what the regulations are here in Ohio. Been busy at work and up at 2 am almost everyday(so I am a de facto zombie). That sucks Tom and kevin. Maybe Hungry Mother is a possibility for you guys.

I talked with Denise at the hotel today. As of right now there are only 2 reservations in the group with myself being one of those. I need to get a head count to see if this is still feasible. Thanks

Jeff, I was considering trailering up but have held off cementing those plans for obvious reasons, but if the consensus is that things will be opened up enough to make the trip I will go ahead and plan to come. I haven't reserved yet. How late can we cancel the reservations should it fall through?

i believe that you can cancel up to 24 hours before. I think there is some leniency given the current situation.

Just was doing a preliminary check to see whether to go ahead as planned or postpone or cancel.

Hey Jeff, I reserved a room. Still haven't scheduled boarding for my animal. I'm a little leery to make the trip as I don't believe much of anything will be open in Ohio. Not sure about WV. I do know that population has kinda poo pood the entire covid issue so that state could be awash in infected people.

Curious who else was planning on attending.

I will not be attending this year. The risks are too great - at this point. And I was really looking forward to this Bash!

I guess I am out as well. Thought it might work, but alas. However, if things open up and Watoga can be used, I'm up for convergence of the camping kind at Watoga later on.

I called the hotel and canceled today. Was holding out hope, but due to the current circumstances its untenable. Maybe next year, or the fall.

That means we have to have two (2) Bashes next year. Right? Fall would work as well.
