Femmoto for the Ladies--Okay, for you boys too

Post by queenpdog »

I just got back from several days in Vegas. I had to go down there for a work trade show (Interbike) and it happened to coincide with a Femmoto event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Femmoto is a group that supports women riders and they hosted a demo day at the track. This was a "women only" event and it was a real blast. Ladies, I suggest you consider doing future events.
Anyway, the manufacturers involved were Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Buell, Kymco, and Kawasaki. I got in 5 sessions and the bikes I chose to demo were (in order):

Buell City Cross
Moto Guzzi V-11
Aprilia Tuono
Kawasaki 636
Kawasaki Z1000

We got about 15 minute sessions on the track. Just enough time to get a taste of what each bike was about. I think the tank on the Tuono might still be wet from the drool that I deposited there. It was by far my favorite bike of the day. The Z1000 was the surprise of the day. Very nice bike. Smooth and comfy. It could give the Tuono a real run for its money, and still leave some cash in your pocket. Here's a few photos from the event. Enjoy.

Some sweet bikes there.

You were a lucky girl to have test ridden all those beaut bikes. You liked the Tuono best. What did you think of the Moto Guzzi V-11? The cylinders on those things always hit my knees :)
cheers

I agree. My brother Nick has a Z1000. We were riding out together around Birmingham (West Midlands, UK) and swapped bikes. I must say that I found the Z1000 an amazing bike, rather small but neat and very very quick.

There were a couple of low sides on the course and a few nearly dropped bikes when coming into the pit. Mostly, folks had trouble with the Ulyses. It is really really tall. Even for me and my 32 inch inseam.
I should mention that you can get more info at http://www.femmoto.com

Here's a few more pics to enjoy:

The red Tuono shown is exactly like mine. And those Buells are pretty fun to ride, aren't they? I like the Blast a lot. Fun little runabout.
Cogito Ergo Vroom - I think therefore I ride.
