Mark,

I had to look twice. She has her purse through the wrong hole.

I tried to use the word C-O-C-K-N-E-Y in an earlier post and net nannie replaced it with -------. So seeing the word "hole" was very t-i-t-i-l-l-a-t-i-n-g to me.

Helmet backwards. Very funny. This reminds me...

My wife is taking the BRC this weekend, and I've been trying to tutor her somewhat in the basics of motorcycling...You know, clutch on the left, gearshift on the left....with the foot...Throttle is that handlebar that twists...and the rear brake is on the right foot...etc. etc.

She rides a bicycle pretty good so I'm gonna leave the details up the instructors. That's what I paid the $250 for, right?

However, last night, I thought she was on track for this learning event when she expressed a fear that made me laugh. She timidly asked what will happen if she accidentally puts the foot gear thingy in reverse?

This is gonna be a hoot. I'm giving her a ride there so maybe they'll let me take pictures.

Oh dear Boxer, maybe not such a stupid statement. A lot of bikes do have reverse. The big BMW K1200 tourers do for certain.

Please don't laugh at her, I reckon she's being a brave girl for giving it her best shot.

My wife asked me what I might have considered were a load of laughable questions but I thought about it and realised that, had I not been a biker or known a little about bikes, I might have even asked them myself.

Go girl, go, I say to Mrs Boxer! :D

Cheers!

Soooooo...... I remember once stepping outa the house with my helmet feeling a bit..... awkward.... on my head. I too, had my 3/4 helmet on back wards. Had to study it closely to figure out how it should fit.
(I don't think those several hits off the bong prior to slipping the helmet on had anything to do with my "mistake." After all, we're talking about 1973 here...... several hits of the stuff going around in THOSE days still wouldn't be enough to effect one's judgment.....)

Now putting a full face on backwards...... THAT would be poor judgment.

Jonathon, of course you are absolutely right. I might add, that I did not laugh AT her. We laughed together. I would never laugh AT her at a time like this. I'm really excited she is doing this.

Johnathon, plainly we are seperated by more than the mere 250 or so miles our respective addresses would indicate, as I don't have a clue what "plates" refers to!
Please enlighten me dear boy, please.

Plates? As in plates and dishes = missus.

It's a rather corrupt (though popular) rhyming slang referring to the wife, old chap!

Cheers!

How did she do in the BRC

Post by NCRoaster »

Boxer,

I was wondering if your wife passed the BRC class when she took it? How did she do?

NCRoadster-She was scheduled to take it a couple of weeks ago but they bumped her to this coming weekend (11th, 12th 13th Nov)

I'm taking her over tomorrow evening for the first part. 6-10PM and then she goes back 8-6 Sat and Sun.

I'll be sure and post a full report, with photos if they let me hang around to take some.
