Now that you mention it I didn't see Triumph at Long Beach, and also didn't see KTM. I looked for KTM, forgot to look for Triumph, but would have liked to see their new Daytona. Triumph was there last year, & I think KTM was as well, but of course it could have been local dealers.

We are picking up a new R12100GS ADV at the airport at 9:00 in the morn, (Fri), will be definitely at the show. I am totally exhausted, had a run in with the all the labor unions at the convention center today, seems that they don't want any one but union members doing anything at your spot, the confrentation was kind of fun, we won.

Dean, I can't wait to see that bike, but with that huge engine, isn't it a little over-powered for off-road use?
Perhaps you could tell us why the show was moved from San Mateo to San Jose. It didn't seem that it had outgrown the Expo Center (I remember a lot of empty floor space last year), and the McEnery Convention Center must be a more expensive proposition for the vendors. What's the scoop?
See you this evening at the SJBMW booth.

Morning everyone, Talk about exhaustion, dealing with the Unions has been a eye opening experience and an excers.ise in frustration The San Jose BMW booth was packed as soon as the show openened Fri at 4. People went nuts over Chris's Intercooled, Supercharged Oilhead bike.
First, the K1200GT, a very nice bike, not a Winnibego like the LT, it is going to be a good seller. One of the neat features is the heated grips, on one of the switch positions, the outside air temp sensor modulates the grip temp. The handle bars are extremely adjustable as is every thing else, will be a very comfortable sports tourer.
The new Adventure, truly the Hummer of motorcycles, a lot of parts that are used on the HP 2, parts that are specificaly sourced from Touratech for the new Adventure. The bike is tall, and don't know yet about the gearing as to if it is the same as the normal R1200GS.
Chris had a K1200R with all their goodies on it, Frame sliders, Belly pan, etc. Lot of BMW riders apperal with deep show discounts.
The best Harley type bikes are the new Yamaha Star Roadliners, extremely well done, better and nicer than HD or Victory, with excellend engineering and attention to detail.

I Just been to the motorcycle show in San Jose. What a disappointment!!!
BMW did bring any of the new bikes not R1200S not the new 800. They had fewer models than the SF dealership....
In Ducati it was even worst....I was hoping to see the hypermotard, but all they have was their already known lineup.
I wonder why in CA one of the biggest market for motorcycle in the world we don’t have a decent motorcycle show.

San Jose Show
I agree with you, Momo. Triumph's absence was also significant. Except for the usual accessory stalwarts (Gerbing, Autocom, Shoei, Arai, Saddleman, Avon, etc.) and the bike mags, too may of the booths were occupied by purveyors of generally low end stuff like t-shirts, lens defogger, and cheap fringed leather do-dads (Was that you spellbound in front of the Umbrella Girl's tent?) Let's hope we see an improvement next year. I also liked the San Mateo venue better.

Man, this is, by the farthest, worst Motorcycle Show I ever been to. Man, I ought to save some cash, fly over to England's NEC or wherever the top motorcycle show in Europe. They're usually huge and loads of fun to check out new bikes for 2006 to 2008 or later. I cannot believe Triumph wasn't there, totally disappointed with KTM's no show, and Honda's bland-ala-boring bikes. This is the LAST motorcycle show I will ever go to!!! Only thing that was great about this show was Aprilia! They brought the new Tuono and the balls out SVX450 Supermoto. Moto Guzzi had the Griso there and was totally impress with it. Yamaha does things right with the new R6 and other 50th Annivesary bikes. It was very awesome of Suzuki bringing in their new GSXR600 and 750s. Kawasaki sucks! BMW, well, did okay there with their over-priced HP and way cool GSA. Ducati is unexplainable Ducati-ly, just lovely and perfect... love the Sports Classics. That was it... nothing else is there. OO well, I'll just to Europe next time, it'll be worth my time.
Nutty rider!
