LED clear lens tail light

Post by Greybeard »

I've forgotten where I saw that tail light offered.

Anyone know off hand?

Don't do it if you have ABS brakes.

It's true that adding LED brake lighting on an ABS bike can cause system errors. But you can still replace the lens without replacing the bulb-type, even on an ABS bike.
If you want LED enahncement to your taillights, and you have ABS, then you may want to stick with the BMW LED mechanism that attaches behind the license plate.

I use the Clearalt one with abs, it will trigger the fault code light, left one, if you squeeze the brake lever before starting, other than that its great. Got it on ebay 6 mos ago for about $69, think they get more now.

I have an LED license plate frame wired into my brake lights. I have had it for over three years, with no ABS problems. It helps people know I am stopping.

Clear Taillights

You could also check out http://www.nippynormans.com they L.E.D. taillights and clear lens kits for both ABS and non ABS bikes. So far the only ones I seen with different models for ABS and non ABS bikes.

If anyone tries the NippyNormans LED rear turn indicators that also have a single band of red LED's in the yellow LED pod. Seems like it would be nice to have brake lights activate in the turn signal pods.

Is it compatible with ABS? The web sight does not say.
