Does anyone know if the R can be fitted with a sidecar? If so from whom?

EZS also offers a great kit but like Armec, it will be a permanent conversion.

My wife has a R1200C with a Champion sidecar but the mounts had to be custom-made since Champion did not offer them for this bike. We can detach the sidecar and ride the bike as a solo if we wish. You can't do that with the Armec or the EZS.

If you want a sidecar that you can remove and still ride the bike, you should contact Dauntless Motors and see if they already have mounts for the R1150R.

There are other manufacturers but I haven't seen any pictures of them hooked up to the R1150R.

There are Armecs with "quick release" mechanisms; the Tremoleano, and the Sidewinder.

Spendy bits of kit too. They look to be of good quality though.

Armec sidecars are high quality but their quick-disconnect models like the Sidewinder are not conventional sidecars: They are "leaners". I've owned sidecars for the last 25 years but you wouldn't get me in a leaning sidecar for any amount of money. They are very dangerous and the total opposite of regular sidecars, which are very safe.

Cool pictures! I don't have any interest in sidecars for now, although I flirted with the idea when my first child was born. Now they just look like fun and would be great for taking the family riding, if the family was small enough!

But if anything ever happened to prevent me from riding a regular bike, I'd get a sidecar before a trike any day!

My wife and I have owned seven rigs over the last 25 years. We presently have a BMW R1200C with a Champion sidecar.

Did you say 30,000 Euro? That is like $36000 USD.

Really cool but that costs more than my bike and car together. Maybe when I am a little older and richer I can talk my wife into one.

It is a beautiful rig and your pictures made me miss Germany.

I have to get back sometime soon.
