Pretty neat. Unless, like me, you don't bring my feet up until you're moving. I suppose on the shift side odds are better that you'll miss it when clicking into gear.
Considering the cost of all the damaged caused by riding off with a disc lock in place (lower fork leg, caliper, disc and associated drop damage, etc) this would be money well spent. Here in the UK bike theft is a major problem and most sports bike owners don't want to lug a chain or U lock around so they tend to use disc locks.

I just use an alarmed disc lock. As soon as the bike is moved (like sitting on it), the alarm goes off. As long as the lock battery is good, it would be pretty hard to drive off with the lock on.
