Touring Screen quick disconnect?
I just installed the BMW touring screen on my '04 R. I like it but I'm wondering if there is a easy (quick) way of removing the screen? I would rather have the wind on those hot summer days. I thought I saw a comment about this before but i can't find it on the forum.
Thanks,
Dave

I was just thinking that in a sudden stop, if you should happen to fly over the bars, the brackets could catch you. I admit it is a very remote possibility.
I wish it was easier to change windshields.

The sport shield and touring shield take the same brackets. The littel speedster screen is different.
Bob is right, there is no easy way to take the brackets off. Should not be much of a problem if you just leave the brackets on and remove the shield, except if you don't like the look.

Quick way to remove touring windshield
I developed a method of removing the touring windshield rapidly. Just waddle through a bunch of sand allowing your rear wheel to get up to 30 MPH or so and then hit firm pavement. The bike jerks forward, falls over on it's right side, skids across a two lane road, doing about $3400 dollars worth of damage and removes the windshield rapidly.
Windshield dismount.
yeah, I can't recommend it much either.
