Ft tire wear
My ft tire on my R1100R wore more on the Lt side than the Rt. The Lt was well down into the wear bars and the Rt was not. Anyone have any ideas?

Front axle mis-aligned in forks. Axle wheel bearings. Missing front axle spacer. Load unbalanced side to side. Paralever effect (very debated topic). Bent, splayed, weak fork. Road crowning. Steady winds from front right quarter. Rider tendancy.
I'd check the fork/axle alignment. Happens (supposed to) when you replace the front tire/wheel. With axle installed and retainer bolt wrist tight AND fork pinch bolts loosely fastened; bounce the bike for full travel several times while upright (off side/center stand, rider on board). Helps to have a helper...but doable alone. Put bike on center stand and no weight on front.
Torque pinch bolts to 30nM and retainer bolt to 20-25 nM (check my math).
Problem is you won't know until wear indicators start to show again.... but that's my guess.

Down under we wear the right side first..the camber on the road slopes down on the left..so you tend to ride more on the right side of the tire.
Also for us..right turns are done with more speed than a slow left..could be that also.

I have the exact same problem on my '02 that I bought this spring. Must be a misalignment of some kind. The wear is opposite what it shoud be for the crown theory. I'm not so sure of the turn theory. I got in on the free front tire deal (minus shipping) a couple of months ago and the front needs replacement now. I'd like to avoid the uneven wear if at all possible.
I got 9000 miles out of my last front Z6 and it was VERY worn. Some of you saw it at the Bash. Obviously more worn on the left side than the right. I can usually see through the left hand turns better and therefore am on the gas harder and sooner. I think rider tendency has the most effect.

I think this article explanes it pretty good. It looks at the road crown theory, and the turning radius theroy. Makes sense to me anyway. If what the author thinks is true, there isn't a lot we can do about uneven wear.
