Have you run the engine at all?

It seems that before the oil will show up in the sight glass, you gotta get it circulating. Start er up and run a moment. Then do the sidestand dance.

If you keep adding oil until you see it, you'll end up needing a tow.

did you change the filter also?

is the new oil so clean and clear that it is in fact over the top of the glass?
I was dreaming when I wrote this, forgive me if it goes astray...

The oil on our bikes seems to get hung up in the oil coolers sometimes.

After a good 15 minute ride...stop the bike and leave on the side stand for 5-10 minutes (this helps drain the oil coolers).

Then put it on the center stand and wait 10 munites.

Now check the oil level...yes...a lot of mucking around...but it's the best way.

If you are low on oil, you will hear it. The ticking coming from the engine will be amplified; ask me how I know. The louder-than-normal ticking went away when I put in some oil, catching it before some kind of threshhold supposedly kicks on the low-oil idiot light.
Traffic signals timed for 35mph, are also timed for 70mph.

actually once warmed up if the bike is put on the centerstand for 5 minutes per the owners manual you will get a good reading.
