I've got it in yellow and gray. I like it. It's very well constructed like most BMW products. I don't have the liner for it, and I wish I did because it get's pretty chilly while riding in the Northeast. I also have a Joe Rocket Tahoe jacket that is a similar design, but you can certainly see and feel the difference in quality. The Tahoe is nice, but won't afford the protection that the BMW will.

I bought one during a "close out sale" ($295.00). Red with reflective silver and grey--a good street survival jacket, IMHO. Savanah II line is now discontinued, I'm told. Only problem I found with the jacket is arm mesh fabric getting caught in the zipper track.

Over all a good "warm weather"jacket. Unfortunately the optional cold weather liner cost as much as the jacket.

DJ, I have got one, and find it a brilliant Summer jacket.
I have the liner with mine as well, but find it is still cold in the winter with the liner in. I use my Dri Rider jacket in the winter.
Well constructed jacket though, but yes, expensive.
Have had mine for about 5 years.

Trying to help out DJ

Post by hotzuk »

Hey DJ,

Try checking the equipment and flea market sections on the http://www.advrider.com website as well as the http://www.ibmwr.org website. They come up quite often pre-owned.

If needed, we could help you out by purchasing the jacket for you and then shipping it to you. People are often scared off by people wanting to buy from other countries primarily due to all the scams on the internet.

If you could get that nose to light up, it would be quite a safety feature!

DJ, which BMW dealer do you deal with in Melbourne? And why?
We have no dealer in my town, so we have to travel about 450 ks to either Melbourne, or Adelaide.

But I got my jacket at Southbank BMW in the city... http://www.bmwsouthbank.com.au/indexframe.asp

Nice jacket DJ. You will like the venting when it warms up there. The armpit to wrist vents are the best I have encountered.
