Rear License Plate Use

What is the large place with two bolts for below my rear license plate?
Is that for Euro Plates, Reflector, Flag, Banner, Trailer Hitch?

I think it's for those huge Euro plates.

It is indeed for those Huge Euro plates,,,,,,although with a little trimming...
