Fuel Line Quick Disconnects

I am slightly confused (nothing new there

as the production description for the codes specified show as BRASS not PLASTIC:

See below - just want to make sure that I order the right thing:

Martin --
The Omega parts you reference are the chrome-plated brass QD fittings to replace the stock plastic ones. You have the right part numbers.
BTW, even though FT-LCD220-05 shows on-line as 3 weeks back ordered, they apparently are in stock. I ordered the fittings from Omega this past Tues and got them the next day; obviously it would take a bit longer to get them across the pond, not to mention more $/Ã‚Â£/Ã¢â€šÂ¬.

Thanks Challey. I misunderstood Buckster's post but I get it now. Have also discovered that there is a omega.co.uk so can order the parts from them although the site shows '4 weeks' lead time for one of the parts.

Completed the Omega install this morning in about 30 minutes. A bit of trouble getting the hose off the existing QDs, otherwise pretty smooth sailing. The metal QDs mate together much more smoothly than the plastic ones and are very solid. Impressed also with the Omega service: I placed a web order on Tues and the QDs were at my door the next day. About the only criticism is that there is no guard around the release button to prevent inadvertant disengaging. That's a pretty minor concern since the QDs live their lives behind a plastic shield (obviously removed for the picture).

Though the stock QDs appeared to be in good shape, it will be nice not to have to worry about dealing with a crack when you're on the road. A simple and highly recommended mod.

Thanks Challey. I ordered mine yesterday evening but the UK website shows a 4 week wait time!!

Oh well, I'll have to be patient. I did finally fit my Stiebel Compact Horn today which will also make me feel a little safer in traffic.

Good luck Martin. If Omega UK is like their US counterpart, that 4 week wait is likely to be somewhat shorter.
BTW, where in Surrey are you? I lived near your part of the UK (Sunningdale, Berks) while I worked in London in '97 'till 2000.

I have the omega QD I just have not put them on yet. my question is should I also replace the fuel lines along with the clamps?

Hirsshg - I'd inspect the fuel lines closely at the ends to see if there are any cracks showing in the inner part of the fuel lines. This is where they've had some problems with weepage. If you see that the internal part of the fuel lines are cracked at the ends (where they were cut) then I'd replace those.
