With roads like these!!

Post by stig »

It is hard to stop and take photos as has been mentioned by MIXR, some times it's just plain hard to stop, as was the case when I ventured off the hard top to a gravel road that slowly deteriated to patchy clay and grit, that's wet clay and grit by the way.

Started off fine..

you could say scenic, notice how clean the machine is!

I know a road just like that out the back of Cootamundra! Have to take a comparison shot sometime!

Stuff happens. Glad it's ok, and nice to see the bike getting 'used'. They are pretty good on the dirt, and seem to clean up ok. Thanks for the pics. You have some great roads over in NZ.

Thanks for the photos, Stig. NZ is in the top 3 of my "must visit" list, so please keep posting ride reports and photos. It looks beautiful there.

Thanks for the pics Stig...That's one big top-box that you have there.. ...Do you think the top heavy weight of it contributed to the drop?

What happened..Did you loose your footing while stopped..was it a little front brake lock up..or just a slid in the mud.

Glad no harm was done..except the clean up after.. :D ..Your red Roadster looks great.. :smt023

Yeah DJ,
the top box does look big and heavy, but you don't know it's there untill you want a sandwitch.
I was just idling along at about 40kph,it was like ice, a small car tyre rut and next minute the back wheel was where the front wheel should be, spun 180.
Standing up was hard enough on that stuff without having to pick up the red rooster.

MIXR, yeah I've seen your posts of the rides you've done and the road look inviting....warm and dry.
