Saeng Stealth Edging

Post by celticus »

Has anyone tried the Saeng Stealth Edging? I know it is sold by the yard so maybe someone has an extra foot they would like to sell.

I have had the Saeng edging for about five years on my R1100R and it does indeed work as advertised. Depending on what windshield you have I recommend putting it along the edges of the whole shield--sides included so you will need more than a foot. Basically it gives you the effect of having a taller windshield and it definitely quieter with it installed than without in my experience.

Can you tell me a little bit about the edging for a windshield? I have a Parabellum 22" windshield and, while I like it, I think it would be better if I could block some of buffeting on the helmet. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks. Bill

Basically the edging is a hard rubber strip with grooves that you work into the edging of your windshield. It takes about 10-15 minutes to do it right and rarely loosens. I had mine for 4-5 years and only in the last year or so did it loosen slightly and I had to re-apply it. The edging seems to act as a lip that makes the air come off the shield as if the shield were about 2-3 inches higher. What I also like is that it adds a finished look to the windshield as well.

Thanks for the tip, it's appreciated, I'll look into it. I feel if I could get about 2" more of height on the windshield I would be in good shape, thereby enabling me to rack up hundreds of more miles. Just as soon as I replace the seat

I had some of this for my Honda Silverwing scooter - it's quite heavy duty thick black rubber, but does indeed "add width" to the airflow as described.
