I would be happy to but keep in mind, there are many good choices that would substitute for what I use.For us camping wanna be's, can you tell me what type of tent and sleeping bag you use?
The tent is a Mountain Hardware model that has been discontinued. It is a 2-man tent with only one door but a huge vestibule for storing stuff! If you are solo camping, I would recommend a 2-man tent for all your riding gear. If you bring company, a 3-man would be nice. If you share a tent, 2 doors is highly recommended!
Most any 2-man tent would pack small enough to do what I did and some less expensive models work well. Watch the pole length, that is the dimension that can not be changed! The Eureka line of tents seems to be popular with a lot of folks. Of course, the Mountain Hardware, Sierra Designs, North Face and Big Agnes stuff is all top of the line.
My sleeping bag is a 30-year old down mummy bag (made by a now defunct company), weighing less than 3 pounds. I have camped with it a -30, it stuffs well and is still trustworthy. The equivalent sleeping bag is still made by others but you must be confident you can keep your sleeping bag dry if you use down. Down is more expensive also.
Most folks would probably be better off with an synthetic fill bag which would retain it's loft and warmth when wet. They won't stuff quite as small but with compression sacks, you should be able to manage a pretty small package.
Glad to offer advice, but there are others who are just as qualified who might chip in with there own words of wisdom.
