Motorcycles aren't about logic, I should buy a BMW, right?

My first bike was a Kawasaki VN750 Vulcan. I liked almost everything about that bike, except it was a little funky looking. I would probably still be riding it today if I hadn't totaled it. A GS is considered the best "all around" motorcycle, but it isn't for everyone. Especially those of us of normal height. The R1150R and 1200R have many of the same qualities without the height. I think the R-bike is a jack of all trades, but unfortunately, master of none. You can tour on it, but there are better touring bikes. You can do some off pavement, but certainly not much more than dirt roads. Most of all, I think the R is a great commuter. Extremely easy to maintain yourself. Highly recommended.
