Every sympathy with your problem, the bike can be very top heavy at walking pace when fully fueled & packed. Would suggest the most cost effective fix IS a more substantial sole on your boots, it can make an amazing difference with added benefit of better foot protection. And speaking as one who knows - cylinder head guards will avoid a lot of the damage if the bike topples over at walking pace. Hope you found your fix.
