April's fools there.
Got me!

Good one, John!
Biff's R , I'm riding BT-023's now; traction's OK, and I got 7700 miles out of my last BT-03 rear. My current front tire has 4200 on it and looks pretty good for another 4000+ more. Based on John's tire longevity, I suspect that even considering the additional $$, the PR3's are a better value ($/mile-wise).

My mileage has been pretty consistent between the PR1, PR2, and Z6. And my guess is that the PR3 will do about the same. I had the BT-021 and only got 5k miles out of them. So I am hoping the 023s last as long as the PR1. I don't think that I will ever get 14k on any set of tires.

That's cuz you have those fine Ohio roads. We have next to nothing like that here in La. Lots of my miles, unless I am one of my trips, is riding the center compound and that is harder. And it's riding city streets. I got 10+ out of the rear.

Very true. Extra downforce means more friction and wear on the tires.

the final tally on the front was 14481! There were some miles left on it, but I needed to change because a ride is coming up. It was noticeably lighter than the replacement. The rear had about 10,500 when it was replaced
And, while at Baton Rouge BMW last weekend I saw a flyer for the PR3s. There were graphics showing the pressure points during turns vis a vis the sipes and treads. From those pictures my wear is not unusual at all, it is the norm.
Also, while the rim was bare, with all previous weights on, I put it on the marc parnes balancer. Removing some weight and adding some, I balanced the naked wheel. Then I installed the tire...
backwards
so I got to do it all over again.
When I put it on the balancer it was pretty close to ideal, close enough for sure.

Very unusual wear. I got just 3500miles from my front Bridgestone Battlax BT021. Will be looking for a cheaper one next time.

I was referring to the pattern of wear, not the mileage. 3500, ouch. I think 14.4 is a lot, but I seem to get better mileage than many on the board. Probably related to our road surfaces here and lack of twisties unless I am on a trip.

That sucks. The abs ring has saved me a couple of times from doing the same thing.
