Hello again Hija1,
"maybe I have a bike that will never have a problem ?"
Why not just do the Remove-Starter check ?
See extensive instructions elsewhere, but basically remove the starter ( the underneath one of the 2 bolts is an absolute Schwein to get to and there's no need to unbolt the wiring ). Engage first gear and ziptie the clutch lever to the grip.
Shine a bright flashlight at the edge of the clutch-pack and ferkle with a long thin screwdriver at the outer edge of the clutch disk whilst observing the tiny part of the splined gearbox-input-shaft that you can see. There should be no noticeable radial movement of that shaft as you rotate the edge of the clutch friction plate a few degrees.
If there's any more slop than 10 degs of plate rotation before the shaft starts to turn, watch this video, then roll up your sleeves and don the nitrile gloves.

Ok. I have several maintenance tasks lined up for my bike and will include this spline inspection. I'm now retired and want to start doing all my own work. I've successfully flushed brakes and clutch fluid, changed engine, trans and final drive fluids. Up next is valve adjustment, TB sync and fuel filter replacement. Very satisfying to do your own work. Thanks sykospain. Ps. I spent a few weeks last year in Castellon and Valencia. I loved it.

My best pal here in Mojácar, Almería on the s.e. Med coast is a valenciano. He has a fab old second-floor 3-bedroom piso slap-bang in the centre of the old city right by the new small fashionable market.
I can't persuade him to get a motorbike though - he says at 64 he's too old - pshaw....
Remember that if / when you do the clutch job, you might as well replace your friction plate, even if it's in good nick, with the 'new' longer-hubbed Thai version, now available since late Spring this year from all the usual BMW Motorrad Spares people, but n o t of course from the greedy Berlin Pig - honk, honk. They'd prolly charge 300 snoojits for it - Schweinhünde....
