Dave,
OK Teach...now explain to me what's up with that chain on the fine MT-03??
Actually, that concept is called the MT-0S. The MT-03 is a newly released yamaha 660cc single based on their older concept little brother to the MT-01.

I like the bike, but the power seems to be slightly less than the BMW 650CS with almost exactly the same weight. It does have a shorter wheelbase.

It looks comfortable and fun to ride though.

From Yamaha Europe. http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/prod ... /MT-03.jsp
The MT-03 was born for the kind of 21st century roads where bigger high-performance bikes struggle to unleash their full potential. MT-03 has instant, pulsing low-down power from its fuel-injected 660 cc single-cylinder engine and a totally new sports chassis concept engineered for hardcore street sports riding.
You get a short wheelbase, low seat height, focused centre of gravity and forward-biased riding position for hyper-manoeuvrability, superb rider feedback and excellent traction. So MT-03 is perfect for extreme riding, doesn’t matter whether you’re doing it on urban streets or mountainside hairpins. And with side-mounted rear shock, aluminium swingarm and twin underseat pipes, the MT-03 looks as trick as it rides.
Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please.

Sorry Jeff, I got my MT-OH's mixed up.
The MT-03 single will be a stone blast as it is so close to a street Super Motard, but with some "refinements" for pure street duty.
I have an older version of the 660 5-valve single in my MZ Black Panther and it is a great engine. And very smooth considering it's a big single. The balance shaft works wonders.
Talk about "mass centralization"...look where the shock is!

Now, the MT-02...that is the motorcycle I have had in the back of my mind for several years. This bike just puts that image into sharp focus. So you see why I like the MT-01 and Speed Triple so much. And now THIS!

Anybody know any more about that bike? Engine??
