Signalminder

Post by Bud »

Ditto to everything said. I love the paddle on-off feature and the timer. Use the running lights and people see me.

I accidently pushed the emergency flasher and couldn't turn it off either. My non-MC friend walked up and asked me what the problem was (he's a real bright guy). I told him, he looked at the bike and then pushed the BMW signal canceling slider button which I never use anymore and viola! the flashing lights shut off......felt pretty stupid.

Question for those who have hooked up the brake light wire on ABS bikes...

Any problems with ABS faults?

I've had my SignalMinder, with brake light wire connected, for over 2 years and haven't had a problem.

Phil - I have the Kisan SignalMinder brake light and the GizmoMill flashing LED tail light and the Givi V46 supplemental top box tail light kit all hooked in to the brake light circuit and have had no faults in over 15000 miles of riding.

Cool. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.
Thanks, Bob.

Slight hijack...

I have a Givi top box with brake light. It works fine, but when I am braking, the box shakes a little and the light goes on and off.

The connections (under the box, and under the lid) are clean and shiny. The four spring loaded contacts all seem strong.

1. Does yours do this?
2. Any suggestions?

To test, with key on but bike off, press rear brake with right foot, jiggle top case, look at brake light.

THANKS

Don't know what is going on...that link did work when I posted it - I checked it twice. Now I can't find the thread at all using the board's search feature. :?

If I have any luck, I'll post it again here.

Does anyone know if you can run just front running lights or do you need to run front and rear together? Also, does the signalminder change the way you use the controls? I like the signal functions the way they are now!

I don't see a way to run the front only. I installed mine and like it. I have the running lights on high for daylight.

The Signalminder is the one best add-on to my bike. I love the self-cancelling/cancelling with same paddle feature.

The running lights I leave on low all the time. I HAVE switched to high on occasion during the day but I usually forget to do this. I worry some that they may get too hot to have them on high all the time.

I have the clear lenses/amber bulbs set-up and was concerned at first about the legality of running amber lights all the time, but I don't think any LEOs are aware of it, or just don't care. Never been ticketed or even asked about it.

Hmmm, good info, I had been concerned about the heat issue. I was also thinking that it might be illegal to run rear runnings lights, I dunno why but I have only seen them on the front of other bikes. Either way, sounds like a good purchase!
