The Dunlop Roadsmarts 3's are mounted-N-balanced on my 1150 R. They look pretty good on the bike. The sidewalls were much stiffer than the Angel GT's and Roadsmarts were noticeable heavier when mounting. Took a 70 mile ride to rough them up a little and noticed the ride was much rougher than the Angels. Didn't press the grip in turns yet but the turn in seems fairly neutral. The rear Roadsmart 3 is 5/16" wider than the Angel GT, same size 170 60 17.

I have been using Michelin Pilot Road tires on many Motorcycles starting with the PR-2's. Running them on a Suzuki SV-1000S, the heavy Kawasaki Councours 1400 and PR-3's on the current Bandit 1250. They have the tire "unicorn" feature of high traction AND high mileage. In the wet they are absolutely amazing. When replacing the cupped Bridgestones that came on the 1150 I opted for the PR-4 GT as the R will see some two up riding and possible touring. They really made the Roadster neutral and transition from center to edge smoothly.

i have 12.5K on my stinko raven 009s, mounted them in fall of 2017, getting ready to install a new rear for 2019.

the bags are always on the bike with about 50lbs plus my 180 dripping wet without any riding gear.

I've done hours at 80-100mph running out to west tx, a load of commuting, and local twisty riding.

never had an oh poo moment on these tires, so you can keep your 180 dollar rear tires, i'll spend the money i saved on gas and broads

I'm very impressed with the set of Bridgestone T30 EVO tires that I put on last summer.

I've used these on the R1150R's (3) we have:
Pirelli Angel GT's are very good in all road conditions. Handle and grip is excellent and they give about 6,000 miles before needing replacement. These have been our go to tire.
Dunlop Roadsmart 3's seem to be very good. They handle a little slower than the others but the grip is excellent also. They seemed to be a heavier built tire than the others. I got about 6-7,000 miles on Roadsmart 2's before the front needed replacing. The 3's say they will go further, we will see.
Metzeler Sportec M7 RR, Bought these recently for our new to us R1150R project bike. They handle excellent and give back a great road feel. Grip has been extremely good but haven't used them yet in wet conditions. We have about 2,000 miles on them and wear seems good although we aren't expecting high mileage from them. If your looking for the best high performance tire these are them. Probably a 4-5,000 mile tire.
Avon Storm 2's we used on this bike are no-longer available but they were similar in feel to the Roadsmart 3's.
I/we seem to wear out the front tires before the rears on our 1150R's. So far just about all of the tires have gone to 6,000 miles before needing replacement. We usually go to the wear bars unless starting out on a long trip which we start with fresh tires.
